At the begigning, the need of preserving our food made us to discover new ways of controlling our indoor enviroment which led to the invention of air conditioners
What exactly is air conditioner?

In layman’s terms, Air Conditioner is just a machine that works on replacing heat from the air with colder ones for creating more bearable indoor environment. AC’s are major part of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioner (HVAC) family. The Air conditioner that you use at your home is called split ac as in, there are two-part first one being the indoor unit which is installed in your room, the main function of this unit is to absorb the heat and simultaneously release the refrigerated chilled air from it’s gas cylinder. While the role of the outdoor unit here is to take the warm air which was absorbed by the indoor unit and then release it into the atmosphere.
Who discovered air condidtioner?

Wills Carrier also co-founder of Carrier air conditioning invented air conditioning technology, he’s persuasion of making a technology to control moisture, led him to realize that he could dry air by passing it through the water to create fog. Doing so would make it possible to manufacture air with specific amounts of moisture in it. Within a year, he completed his invention to control humidity which become the basics of modern air conditioning. Soon Willis Carrier recognized early on that climate, comfort, and production requirements would determine the value of air conditioning. From the beginning, he began to develop a network of international dealers, distributors, and customers. Success with early installations in Europe and Asia were indicators of air conditioning’s universal application across international borders.
Why air conditioners/AC are bad for the environment?

Like most of the modern day technology Air conditioners also have negative impact on environment, Ac use CFCs and HFCs as their cooling agent , these agents release single oxygen atoms which further react with ozone layer which consist if O3 and as a result the ozone layer becomes thin and eventually it becomes the reason for the holes we have in it.Not only this but the energy which is consumed by AC’s are sky rocketing as on an average just 1 to 4 unit per day which at macro level raise warining alaram for the environment.
How does the air conditioner work?
Air conditioners take heat and humidity out of the air inside your home, then distribute that heat and humidity outside while returning the newly cooled air back to the house. Air conditioners never take air from outside and put it in your home. Instead, they work by cooling down the air that’s already in your home.
